STUBAI GLACIER SKIING
For intermediate skiers, the Stubai Glacier area is excellent, with wide and gentle ski piste which usually offer superb snow conditions throughout the main winter months. For better intermediates there are a number of similarly wide red ski pistes that are popular with ski race training clubs as well as ski carvers looking for consistent snow conditions and wide slopes to wind across. Steep skiing on the Stubai Glacier is limited to a few areas but those with good local knowledge and experience can tackle the off.
The is a large snow park, the Stubai Zoo as well as some good ski touring routes. The ski route down to the valley base-station is outstanding when conditions are good. The Stubai Glacier has one of the best lift systems in the region, which ferries skiers and boarders to the high-altitude snow fields on the glacier. The newly redeveloped Eisgrat gondola has improved volumes and comfort.
