For intermediate skiers, the Stubai Glacier area is excellent, with wide and gentle ski piste which usually offer superb snow conditions throughout the main winter months. For better intermediates there are a number of similarly wide red ski pistes that are popular with ski race training clubs as well as ski carvers looking for consistent snow conditions and wide slopes to wind across. Steep skiing on the Stubai Glacier is limited to a few areas but those with good local knowledge and experience can tackle the off.

The is a large snow park, the Stubai Zoo as well as some good ski touring routes. The ski route down to the valley base-station is outstanding when conditions are good. The Stubai Glacier has one of the best lift systems in the region, which ferries skiers and boarders to the high-altitude snow fields on the glacier. The newly redeveloped Eisgrat gondola has improved volumes and comfort.

People walking in Innsbruck old town

One of the greatest Alpine cities in the world, Innsbruck is just a short ride north of the Stubai valley.

Strapped to a pilot, clients can ride the thermals, high above the peaks of the Stubai valley.

There is a single, large hotel at the base-station of the Stubai Glacier but as the road heads north there are numerous small resorts and accommodation. Neustift is the largest resort in the valley and where the majority of skiers and snowboarders visiting the Stubai Glacier stay.

Neustift has good facilities, a huge range of accommodation and some enjoyable après ski. Further north along the valet road is Innsbruck, a city right in the heart of the mountains which offers a fantastic range of entertainment and services.
