The corporate ski trip calendar is set to start in the coming week, and conditions across much of Austria are excellent. Hoteliers should be in ebullient moods, and après ski bars should have seen their coffers topped up. Corporate ski events rarely occur over the festive period - still, the cold and snowy conditions of the last 2 weeks will offer peace of mind for those taking an early January ski event.
Recent snowfall in the Innsbruck region has provided more powder skiing. Despite the numbers in resorts, there were still plenty of lines to enjoy a couple of days after the last significant storms. Between Innsbruck and the Arlberg, Kappl had superb powder skiing over the weekend – banks of new snow under blue skies.
Snowpacks are impressive, even with the traffic that the slopes have received over the last few weeks. Zürs has had some epic skiing, but high winds today closed the ski area at all the higher elevations.
Snow is forecast for periods through the week and into the weekend.
